A vintage paddlewheel riverboat ties up at Paducah, KY, on the Ohio River.
Tugboats, barges and pleasure craft ply the waters of the Ohio River, creating a delightful moving tableau along Paducah’s riverfront. Late afternoon, this vintage paddlewheel river boat cruised upriver and tied off at Paducah.
Earlier, while we were viewing the levee murals, a local struck up a conversation with us, saying he was waiting for a friend to arrive by boat. The skipper was returning to Dubuque, Iowa, after cruising downriver to Florida.
Little did we expect to see THIS boat arrive! Flowerbeds graced its deck. A grill stood ready to cook dinner. And a frisky dog bounded from rail to rail.
Another onlooker exclaimed: “Now that’s a motor home!”

Dear Rose and David,
Now this looks wonderful, and I half expect to see this in a future blog as your next alternative traveling home. Safe journey! Jeanne
As a boater and former steamboat crewman I always enjoy a stop-over at beautiful Paducah and love the friendly people
